summer is here

It's official. Summer has arrived. When all the students pack up and leave, I know it's summer. This year I was not ready for it to happen. I was enjoying having people around all day everyday to talk to or to play with or to just know I am not alone in this big huge building during the day! Well graduation happened to day and we had to say our goodbyes. Goodbye for a summer to some and goodbye for a while to others.
Here is how we spent the last couple weeks and a couple of the awesome students we get to share our life with:

Ate at the hot dog shoppe for breakfast for the first time...It was wonderful!
Spent some time with Krista who is going to be working in Jamaica all summer. Then she is going to be in D.C finishing up her program. We will miss her next fall.
Hung out with Ashlie, my friends soul mate, lots. She will be gone all summer working at a camp. We can't wait for her to come back in the Fall!!
Walking around the new part of campus the day it opened up. It looks wonderful!
Taking family portraits of our family of 4!
And going to graduation. Jenine graduated and is getting married this summer. Toby is her ring bearer and will be living right down the road. We are excited for them staying here!

We love that we get to work with students. They teach us so much. Beaver Falls just won't be the same without all of the students here.

Phone fun

I always wondered when this would happen. Today it did. We got back to the apartment after lunch and I was getting Zoe in bed, since she was sleeping, when the apartment phone rang. Up until now Toby has just ignored it but today he decided to answer it! This is what I heard,

"hello"
"No"
"okay, welcome"
"bye!"

When I came out he was hanging up the phone and he said they asked for Brian. I asked him if he knew who Brian was and he said "It's Daddy!!" :)
So if you call our apartment phone you just might get Toby instead of one of us!!

Here are my babies!

Thanks MOPS for Zoe's adorable dress!! :)

One month old!

Zoe is one month old!! It has gone so fast!! I still feel like we just brought her home from the hospital. She is now 11 lbs and 22 inches long. She is growing so fast! She is starting to be more alert when she is awake and I know she is on the verge of smiling! She is doing great at night with sleeping. She will usually wake up sometime in the hour of 2 or 3 for the first time and then again at around 6 or 7. If I go to bed early I can get some good sleep! I hope it continues and only gets better from here!!

Zoe at 1 month.

Toby is still such a great big brother! He loves her so much! He will hug, kiss and cuddle with her every chance he gets! He also thinks every noise she makes is hilarious! It's so cute to see them together! I can't wait for her to start interacting with him, She is going to love him I just know it!

Meet Zoe

So Zoe is finally here!! She is almost a week old now and we are enjoying every minute with her! Toby loves to hold her and hold her hands when we are changing her diaper. He is such a great big brother!
Last Friday (the 30th) I was starting to have contractions. At lunch time they were there but not very often and I actually didn't know they were contractions! Then Toby went down for a nap and Brian and I were just talking on the couch when I noticed I was having the same feelings for a while now. They didn't feel like contractions, or what I thought contractions should feel like. So by 5:30 I started writing down how often they were coming. They were about 3 to 5 mins by that point but still not very strong. We went to dinner in the cafeteria here and I was still recording the contractions. Then we went to the coffee shop here on campus and I walked around to see if they would get stronger or go away. By 7:30 I called the doctor to see what they thought and they told me to go to the hospital. So we went home, grabbed our bags, got Toby all settled with Domper who was staying with him, said goodbye while trying to explain what was happening, then off to the hospital we went! We got there a little before 9 and by 9 I was all hooked up to monitors and they were going to check my progress to see if I was going to stay or go home. They checked and I was 5 cm already!! They did some blood work, gave me my epidural, broke my water and by 12:19 am she was here!! It was fast and I was so thankful for that! I have decided that for some reason I deliver babies pretty quick and easy and for that I am super thankful!! :)

Here are a few pictures of our little baby girl!

Unca Josh visits!

Since we have gotten back from Indiana we have been having some fun. My brother Josh got to come out here for 4 days and Toby loved that so much! All I heard was "Hey Unca Josh" and there was alot of laughing!! He left this morning during a big snow storm that we were having. He left early enough though that he made it home safe! Here are some things that we did.

Josh and Toby built a tower with his big lego blocks. Toby was so proud of it!
Toby always woke Unca Josh up in the mornings and from naps. Here he is cuddling with him!
Toby hanging out with the "HUGE" snowman that we made today.
Toby liked the baby snowman that someone made too.
Toby helping daddy roll the body for the snowman.
He lost interest in the snowman because throwing snowballs at people was more fun! Watch out Domper!
Here he is in a big pile of snow. We lost his feet!
We went to Jerome Bettis' restaurant for some good food!
Jerome was there doing his radio talk show so we got to see him! Pretty cool!
Our booth. Dan, Josh, Toby and me. Of course we had to have the golf channel on!!

Classes start on Monday and so students are now coming back and things will start up again here soon! We had a great break and a little sad it's over but glad that things are going to start to be more on schedule again! We are now preparing for our new little girl that will be here very soon!
