Food is good.

Being pregnant food is very important!! I am not having very healthy cravings (fried foods for example) and I am not eating the greatest for my meals.
I remember back when I was pregnant with Toby I craved red meat and eggs. So for every meal I ate either eggs or some sort of red meat and vegetables. I also walked everyday for the last few months of my pregnancy. I was feeling great by the time my due date came along. Well with this one I eat in a cafeteria every lunch and dinner. There might be a selection of food but how healthy are my options? Are the veggies I am eating even good for me? Where did the meat I am eating actually come from? I have been feeling gross lately and like I wish I could just go back to eating meat and vegetables that I cook every night for dinner. With our money situation we are not able to do lots of grocery shopping to be able to do that so I just have to try and be creative in the cafeteria.
However, Tuesdays (today) for lunch Brian meets with one of his RA's over lunch and Toby and I usually will eat with a student or friend or someone but today we had nothing planned. So I looked through my kitchen and came up with a pretty decent meal for what I had. I found some beef in the freezer and I had noodles and spaghetti sauce, garlic bread and some broccoli. So I made some spaghetti with meat sauce and had broccoli and garlic bread. My mom would be so proud of me when she hears that I cooked the broccoli and I ate it! I hate cooked broccoli unless it is mixed in with lots of other things! Today I cooked and ate it just as it was! Toby even had broccoli mixed in with his spaghetti and he had grapes! I am feeling good about our eating today. While it isn't the BEST we could eat it was the best we had at home! And for dinner - we are going to the cafeteria.......

Any suggestions on fast, cheap, healthy meals? I am all ears!

The bathroom

I realized today how great it is to just go to the bathroom when you need to go. Not worrying that you aren't allowed to!!
I had my ultrasound today and I had to drink 32 oz. an hour before my appointment and then not pee until after the ultrasound. This is SO hard!! Before we left the house I had to go extremely bad! I couldn't stand or walk b/c that made it harder to hold. We got to the doctor's office 10 mins early for my 12:45 appointment thinking hey if we are there and they are ready let's get started!! Well they didn't think that way. I keep seeing nurses walking by or standing in the back talking and let me tell you I was getting mad! I had Brian go up and ask how much longer it would be (again b/c I couldn't stand up) and they said 2 mins but if I wanted to empty my bladder a little that would be fine. Well at that point I needed something so I agreed to that even though my question was "how do you make it stop when you want to just let it all out?!?!" So I emptied a little bit and tried to stop but it never fully stopped. I kept a constant little stream of pee going.  So having no idea what to do I grabbed a big wad of toilet paper and stopped it that way. I held it there until I stood and knew no more would come out. Then I found my seat next to Brian in the waiting room again and waited. waited and waited and waited . 2 mins - yeah right!! by the time they finally called me back to the ultrasound room it was 1:05 (actually 1:06 or 1:07 but I'll round a little) It should be illegal for doctors offices to make a pregnant lady drink that much water so long before the appointment and then make her wait 20 mins longer in the waiting room!! Oh and I found out one of the nurses I saw talking in the back was the lady who did my ultrasound...... grrr!!
So whenever you feel the urge to go to the bathroom, I encourage you to just go and be thankful that you don't have to wait to let it all out! I also want to say a big thank you to my doctor's office in MN where I had my ultrasound with Toby. I didn't have to wait in the waiting room at all! They know how to take care of pregnant women who have to pee!! :)

Oh and I guess this is important too..... we are having a GIRL!! :) I will put a picture of our baby girl on soon!

Toby loves his Daddy!

For those of you who think that Toby is a 'mini Brian' I will say I don't fully agree. I think that he has alot of both Jensen and Arnold in him. For example, in this picture when he is with Chad he is totally a Jensen.

Then like in this picture where he was trying to be Daddy I think he looks like an Arnold. Too bad it's while he is dressing in Daddy's clothes, it would have been perfect if he looked like a Jensen! :)

This of course is just my opinion let me know if you see something different!
Oh and PS tomorrow we are having our ultrasound so I will let you know what we are having! (if the baby cooperates that is!!)

Crazy Toby!

So this is my son. Toby. He likes to try to help with things. Like here he is helping our friend Domper fold her laundry. He thought this was a great way to do the underwear! You can tell he is still in diapers. He is not sure where underwear goes.

He can't wait until our baby comes. He rubs my belly and says "Hi Beebee" (baby). Today we asked him what we should name the baby and he told us we should name him/her "Izzy". His favorite little friend who moved away this past summer.
This is picture is Toby with Campbell Kirksey. She was born the day after his 2nd birthday to our friends Sarah and Jeff. He always gets excited when he gets to see her. He gets to practice being a big brother when she is around.

I think he is going to be a great big brother!
